Specimen Requirements
If dosage and dosing information are provided, they will be included on report to enhance clinical interpretation.
Specimen Type: Serum
Container/Tube: Serum gel or red top
Specimen Volume: 1 mL
Collection Instruction:
1. Draw blood 30 minutes before next dose of vancomycin.
2. Label specimen as serum.
3. Avoid hemolysis and lipemia.
Reference Values
Trough Therapeutic: 10-20 ug/mL
Peak Therapeutic: 25-50 ug/mL
