Specimen must arrive within 1 hour of collection.

Container/Tube: Plain, screw-capped container

Specimen Volume: Entire ejaculate

Collection Instructions:

1. Collect specimen by masturbation after a 2 to 4 day period of sexual abstinence.

2. Avoid use of water- or oil-based lubricants as they may contaminate specimen and interfere with testing.

3. Forward promptly at body temperature.

1. Time and date of collection.

2. Was specimen collected by masturbation?

3. How many days of sexual abstinence were observed?

4. Was specimen kept at body temperature during transport?

5. Describe any collection problems.

Specimen Rejection: Collected in a condom

Count: 50-250 million/mL

1 Hour motility: >70%-100%

3 Hour motility: >70%-100%

Must be scheduled with the laboratory.
