Average Relative Risk: 1.0-3.0 mg/L

High Relative Risk: 3.1-10.0 mg/L

Consider retesting in 1 to 2 weeks to exclude a transient elevation secondary to                                    infection/inflammation.

Acute phase Response: >10.0 mg/L

Ideally for cardiovascular risk assessment, valves should be measured twice and averaged.

Values >10mg/L are suggestive of a systemic inflammatory response and should be retested in 2 weeks after the inflammatory response has resolved.
